Dr. Jonathan Hynes BKIN(Hon) D.C.

Dr. Jonathan Hynes BKin (Hon) D.C. graduated from the School of Human Kinetics and Recreation at Memorial University in 2004, in his time at MUN he was working as a Certified Fitness Consultant and at a rehabilitation clinic as a Work Hardening Assistant which specialized in Clinic Based Occupational Rehabilitation. He then got accepted to attend the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto where he was extensively trained to assess, diagnose, and treat all regions of the body. He is a hands-on, diversified technique practitioner who utilizes spinal manipulative therapy, myofascial release therapy, instrument assisted soft tissue techniques and rehabilitational exercises. He treats various conditions from head, (Temporal Mandibular Joint syndrome, headaches, neck pain etc.) to toe (plantar fasciitis, ankle and knee injuries) and everywhere in between (mid back and low back pain, Nerve impingement syndromes, etc.). Dr. Hynes has also had training in custom orthotics and has been providing those in the Conception Bay South area for the last 5 years. Dr. Hynes has been in practice since 2007 where he worked in the Sherbourne Health Centre in downtown Toronto, which is a clinic funded by CMCC to treat inner city and high health risk patients. Upon Graduation he returned to Gander where he worked for a year before making his home in Conception Bay South. If you are suffering from any musculoskeletal pain come in for an assessment and he will try his best to provide you with maximum relief. He also strongly believes in a team-oriented patient centred health care and if he can’t help you out then he will refer you to where he believes would be best for you and your condition.

Jeremy Warford, BPE, B.Ed, MScPT

Jeremy completed his Bachelors degrees in Physical Education & Education for Intermediate/Secondary at Memorial University in 2008 & 2009. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy in 2013. Additional to his degrees, Jeremy furthered his education by completing Level 1 & 2 in Functional Dry Needling from KintaCore, Level 1 in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) through Functional Movement Systems, Level 2 Manual Therapy for the upper extremity and training in the Mulligan technique. Jeremy aims for a thorough assessment with all his clients to target the source of injury and to use manual techniques with proper exercise and movement patterns to reinforce functional gain. Jeremy thrives to get his clients to first move well and then to move often! During his free time, Jeremy enjoys hiking, photography, recreational sports and a good movie.

 

 
Bailey Strickland, PT

Bailey completed her Bachelor of Kinesiology with Honours degree at  Memorial University in 2017. Throughout her degree, she completed the  co-op program which allowed her to work as a Kinesiology student with  CBS Wellness Centre. After MUN, Bailey decided to further her  education, and went on to complete her Masters of Physiotherapy at  Dalhousie University in Halifax in 2019. Since then, Bailey has  returned home and is now living in Mount Pearl. She is excited and  eager to be back with the team that initially inspired her to do  Physiotherapy, and to service the population of her home community of  Conception Bay South and surrounding areas. Bailey has a passion for  helping people, and prides herself in providing patient centred care.  Whether it be a musculoskeletal issue, neurological impairment,  cardiorespiratory concern, or if you are simply seeking some advice;  Bailey strives to help fabricate and ultimately reach realistic goals  put forth by her and her patients using education, manual therapy and  exercise in addition to other techniques! In her spare time, Bailey  enjoys spending time with her friends and family, adventuring  outdoors, travelling, playing recreational sports and hanging out with  her two kitties Kobe & Rosie.

Giselle La Cour, PT

Giselle has spent over 16 years in various roles as a competitive swimmer, lifeguard, and varsity level athletic trainer gaining exposure to the importance of physical health and Physiotherapy. To this day she continues her love for swimming and is an avid hiker. For Giselle it was really her passion for physical activity and helping people get back to doing what they love most that led her towards her own career in Physiotherapy.

Giselle pursued her post-secondary education at Dalhousie University graduating with a Bachelor of Science Kinesiology in 2015 and a Masters of Science Physiotherapy in 2018. She began working as a Physiotherapist in 2018 and since then has broadened her education by completing a variety of courses. With additional training in Dry Needling, TMJ and Pelvic floor Physiotherapy, Giselle is always prepared to use the skills and tools at her disposal to help her patients achieve their goals.

 

 
Kate Hartery, PT

Kate graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 2008 with a degree in Kinesiology. She went on to get her Master’s in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2011. Although she is from Ontario, she has spent her career treating in Newfoundland in both the public and private sectors. She has taken various post graduate courses and is skilled in treating upper body, lower body and trunk related conditions. She loves working with all age groups and problem solving with her treatment focused on therapeutic exercises, postural awareness and manual therapy. She is GLA:D trained and loves working with those with osteoarthritis to help them lead happier healthier lives. She looks forward to working with you to gain body awareness and address your concerns.

Carolyn Stagg, RMT

Carolyn Stagg completed her education from comp college in 2009 and passed her board exam to become a registered massage therapist shortly after. Currently Carolyn is an active member and a registered with the college of massage therapists of newfoundland and labrador massage therapy association. Carolyns skills include swedish massage techniques, myofacial work, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and educating on stregthening and stretching exercises.

 

 
Jen Manning, RMT

Jennifer studied massage therapy in Edmonton, AB. A two year program comprised of 2200 hours, her education taught her different modalities such as relaxation massage, myofascial release, hydrotherapy and deep tissue massage. Jennifer graduated in 2011 and moved back to her hometown in St. John's soon after. After doing a short stint in relaxation massage, Jen decided that therapeutic massage was what she wanted to focus on.

 

 
Paula Stratton, RMT

Paula Stratton is a registered massage therapist and is an active member of the newfoundland and labrador massage therapy association, the college of massage therapiests of newfoundland and labrador. She graduated from comp college in 2006 and has been with CBS wellness centre since 2011. Her skills include swedish massage techniques, myofacial work, deep tissue massage, trigger point therapy, and prenatal massage. Paula treats a wide variety if conditions including repeated strain injuries, chronic muscle tension, whiplash and tension headaches. She has continued her education with deep tissue therapy and most recently cupping therapy.

 

 
Janaye Allingham, RMT

Janaye graduated with honours from the Massage Therapy program at Eastern College in July 2010 and is an actve member of the Newfoundland & Labrador Massage Therapists Association. She works hard and wants to see results - results for you. Janaye believes that the work environment at CBS Wellness promotes a positive atmosphere for the road to recovery.

 

 
Shauna Hoben, RMT

Shauna has an empathetic personality and a passion for helping and healing, which prompted her career in massage therapy. Her genuine care for her clients' well being and progress make her treatments stand out. Shauna graduated from Academy Canada's Massage Therapy program in 2017 and has been part of the crew at Dynamic Physio and Wellness since February 2018, and she couldn't be happier with her career. She has a background in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry and Environmental Chemistry in addition to her massage training. Her specialties include Swedish Relaxation Massage, Cupping therapy, deep or light pressure depending on the needs/preferences of each client. Shauna’s treatments offer a perceptive therapeutic touch, for those who have trouble voicing what they need in a treatment. Shauna’s sweet demeanor and ready wit can brighten any atmosphere. Shauna’s other passions in life include the ocean, reading, learning new things and spending time with family and friends.
